Making whipped cream is
lot easier than what you might be thinking. You can make perfect,
frothy, fresh dessert-like whipped cream at home all on your own.
You would need 1 cup
heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar, and a pinch of
salt. If you wish to get flavoured whipped cream, you would need
vanilla, almond, or other flavourings to taste.
Step1-Take the cream out
of refrigerator as and when you are ready to whip it. The colder the
cream is, the easier it is to whip it. You can whip the cream with
your hands or you may use the whipped cream charger if you have at
home. Since it can be quite laborious to whip the cream by hand, it
is advisable to use a whipped cream charger. You can whisk the cream
quite easily and quickly with a whipped cream charger.
Step2-If whipping the
cream by hand, use a large whisk and whip the cream in a circular
direction. You will have to whisk really fast so that air can change
the consistency of the cream from a heavy liquid to a light fluffy
substance. If you are using the mixer or the beater, you just have to
place the bowl of cream under the machine and move it gently to make
the swirls of cream.
Step3-Add sugar and salt
to the cream when you are whisking it. You may add brown or white
sugar, depending on your personal choice and health preference. Continue whipping until
you can lift the beater from the cream and can see peaks forming in
the bowl.You may add cocoa,
vanilla, lemon zest or almond or anise extract to flavour your
whipped cream.
